HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - COMPASSCommunities in Motion 2040 Development Review The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Ada and Canyon Counties. COMPASS has developed this review as a tool for local governments to evaluate whether land developments are consistent with the goals of Communities in Motion 2040 (CIM 2040), the regional long-range transportation plan for Ada and Canyon Counties. This checklist is not intended to be prescriptive, but rather a guidance document based on CIM 2040 goals.   Recommendations The proposal provides a variety of housing types and buffers higher density “village product” homes from existing large-lot subdivisions with estate lots. Higher density residential like the “village product” may be better focused along planned transit corridors, or within the core of Meridian as this location cannot be effectively served by public transportation. Consider building a multi-use path along its portion of the Farr Lateral and maintain a non-motorized access along the current irrigation road out to S Eagle Rd. Consider a pedestrian crossing of Lake Hazel Road to provide safe access to the future South Meridian Regional Park.
