Subject: Lynx/DMG Real Estate and Revised Linder Village Proposal
Dear Mayor de Weerd, Meridian City Council President Bird, and City Council Members Little
Roberts, Milam, Borton, Cavener, and Palmer, Ms. Allen, and Mr. Hood:
Good afternoon.
This letter is the second I am writing to the Mayor, City Council, and Planning and Zoning Commission of
Meridian regarding the Linder Village Proposal by Lynx/DMG Real Estate. As a resident of Meridian and
Paramount homeowner, it is also the second letter I am writing against this proposed development.
Lynx/DMG Real Estate requested two last-minute continuances, the first request less than one week from the
original August 3, 2017 hearing. In the face of an organized community effort against their proposed zoning
changes, their second request came yet again less than one week from the September 7, 2017 hearing date. I
attended the September 7 hearing at which the developer asked for the second continuance to allow proper time
to rework their proposal to better align with neighborhood input. The request was granted without a single
member of the Planning and Zoning Commission asking why, once again, the developer waited until the last
minute. To the Paramount residents in attendance that night, Lynx/DMG Real Estate’s actions were clearly
delaying tactics so that they could then mount a public relations campaign to better market their so-called vi sion
for Linder Village.

And what is their reworked, revamped, revised proposal? A lot of smoke and mirrors to hide very little change
to their original plan. Lynx/DMG Real Estate have the arrogance to actually imply that the removal of the big
box store was in response to community feedback, when we all know that Costco had previously announced
Ten Mile and Linder as their intended location. Their actions in this entire process to date appear insincere at
best and untrustworthy at worst.
What is quite clear to me as a resident of Meridian and Paramount homeowner is that this developer has no
interest in making a serious effort to work with our neighborhood community and design Linder Village within
the existing city codes for that site in particular and the city’s smart growth plan in general. Lynx/DMG Real
Estate can put up lots of pretty site plans in their PR campaign, but the bottom line here is a revised proposal
with few changes made to it.
From the first Lynx/DMG Real Estate neighborhood gathering at Gino’s Restaurant this past spring to their
delaying tactics through the summer, it is becoming quite difficult for this Meridian resident and homeowner
not think that my voice is much less important than that of the developers and is not being considered or even
heard by the Mayor, City Council, and Planning and Zoning Commission.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jeanmarie Ambrosio
