HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - ITD September 8, 2017 C.Jay Coles City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2017-0122 BAINBRIDGE SUBDIVISION NO 6 The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the referenced final plat application by Brighton Investments LLC for Bainbridge No 6 located on a parcel located south of US-20/26 (West Chinden Boulevard) milepost 35.65. ITD has the following comments: 1. No access to the State Highway system is requested with this application and none is approved. Connection to or modification of an existing access to the State Highway system will require a permit from ITD. 2. ITD has completed a corridor study of US-20/26. The corridor study shows the future corridor width will need to be 200 feet wide. It is unclear from the submitted documents if the applicant has taken this into consideration and left sufficient clear area to avoid impacts to buildings and any greenspace that may be required by the City of Meridian. A view of the corridor study plan for this area can be found at: http://apps.itd.idaho.gov/apps/us2026CorridorStudy/Strip-Maps.pdf 3. Included is a view of the typical section: 4. The City is reminded that the US-20/26 corridor is already congested. This project will increase the number of vehicle trips in the corridor. ITD has no current funding assigned to mitigate traffic congestion in the US-20/26 corridor in this area. 5. IDAPA 39.03.60 governs advertising along the State highway system. The applicant may contact Justin Pond, Program Manager for ITD’s Headquarters Right-of-Way Section at 334- 8832 for more information. 6. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway. 7. ITD does not object to the construction of a subdivision on the parcel as presented. If you have any questions, you may contact Shona Tonkin at 334-8341 or me at 332-7190. Sincerely, Ken Couch Development Services Coordinator Ken.Couch@itd.idaho.gov
