Re: Special Request to Hook into Meridian Waste Water Treatment
Center's Sewer System
To Whom It May Concern:
C
My name is Karoly Foldesi. My wife and I have resided at 3915 North Ten Mile
Road in Meridian for the past twelve years. We own approximately 20 acres, which
is connected on the backside to the Meridian Waste Water Treatment Center.
About two years ago, when they were requesting support from surrounding
residents for their expansion project, my wife and I agreed and were very
supportive. I spoke to their management at that time and asked if they lay sewer
line close to our property, could we hook into it? I was told that there should not
be a problem with that, our request would be accommodated, and we would not
have to annex to the city. I have now noticed that they will lay a sewer system
adjacent to our property on the south side, heading east toward North Ten Mile
Road. I approached John, the supervisor of the Meridian Waste Water Treatment
Center, and again asked if we could hook our sewer into their system. He said that
it should not be a problem, but he had to discuss it with the City Engineer. He did
and unfortunately, his reply was that the city would allow us to hook into the sewer
system, but we have to apply for annexation to the city. We are still farming on
our land and are not in a position to make these type of changes at this time. We
would like to request that the city make a special concession and allow us to hook
into the Meridian Waste Water Treatment Center's sewer system without having to
annex to the city. At the time of the original discussion, I trusted the word of the
management at the Treatment Center. I now know that I should have gotten a
written statement from them. Please take into consideration our situation. Your
answer is very urgent. If you do not allow us this special concession, we will have
to have a septic system installed on our property for our new shop.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you
soon. If you would like to discuss this matter, please contact me at (208) 887-
6537, (208) 888-3456 or by fax at (208) 884-0212 or (208) 888-3492.
