RE: application H-2017-0082 by John Day for Combined Preliminary / Final consisting of two (2) building lots
on 9.28 acres of land in the C-C (Community Business) zoning district AND Conditional Use Permit for a self-
service storage facility in the C-C zoning district for Trust Storage generally located northeast corner of S.
Locust Grove Road and E. Puffin Street
Hello,
I am unable to attend tonight’s public hearing. I wish to submit written testimony via this email.
I live at 1575 E Mastiff Street, in Sportsman Pointe subdivision, which is across Locust Grove from the
proposed storage facility.
My only request is that the existing paved private access road (shown in the application drawings) that
connects the Chevron to East Puffin Street be left in place and open at all times – before, during and after
construction – and for years to come. The traffic on Locust Grove can be very heavy at times, making it
difficult and time consuming to exit Sportsman Pointe subdivision. The paved private access road allows some
patrons (including a large number from the direction of Mountain View High School) to reach the Chevron
without driving on Locust Grove, which at times is very helpful in allowing us to exit the subdivision on to Locust
Grove. If that access road were closed or removed it would put a lot more traffic onto Locust Grove, making
the problem worse.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Lisa Baird
