Explorer, Suite 200 Boise, Idaho 83713 VIA EMAIL Re: Bainbridge Subdivision – US 20-26 West of Meridian Road The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has been asked to determine the needed right-of- way for the Bainbridge Subdivision on US 20-26 (Chinden Boulevard) west of Meridian Road. ITD has the following response. ITD has a draft corridor plan for US 20-26. There are two different cross sections for the areas east and west of Meridian Road. Your project is west of Meridian Road. The current thinking identifies two alternatives: A minimum of 70-ft half-width if the sidewalk, landscaping and lighting are outside the ITD ROW. A minimum of 100-ft half-width if any of the sidewalk, landscaping and lighting is inside the ITD ROW. ITD has a draft corridor plan for US 20-26. This is the planned cross-section for US 20-26 west of Meridian Road. This is the planned cross-section for US 20-26 east of Meridian Road. This cross section (from the corridor plan) shows the sidewalk within the right-of-way, but ITD practice has been revised since the corridor plan was developed. Current practice is that the 70-ft half-width only works if the sidewalk, landscaping and lighting are outside the ITD ROW. Please note that this letter identifies only the current planning practice. The final design will be based upon discussions with the City of Eagle and other issues. We can also do a license agreement for landscaping in the right-of-way if that makes your site look better.
