I have attended several meetings regarding Boise Hunter Homes' proposal for Sky Mesa East. I am glad they have adjusted their original plans for high density housing; but I would like to be sure a few other concerns are considered : 1) When we purchased our lot, we understood the property to be developed would be an R-4 development. We are concerned about overcrowding Hillsdale quickly with houses already going in rapidly in Century Farm. We are also concerned about insufficient green space. 2) We are concerned about traffic congestion at Taconic and Eagle Rd intersection and the 50 mile an hour speed limit. We would LOVE to see a light and CROSSWALK to allow children to ride bikes and walk to school and the YMCA safely. 3) We would love to see a BIKE PATH that will connect Sky Mesa and Blackrock to the Regional Park coming in the future and encourage a healthy South Meridian lifestyle. 4) We would love to see sidewalks and a nice berm and plants and trees along Eagle Road. 5) We feel a LARGE PARK or city park should be included in the planning with swings and room to run. Century Farm, Tuscany, Thousand Springs all have city parks. With so many homes going in we need that green space to foster community. 6) We moved to Sky Mesa because we wanted a half acre lot that was still in a neighborhood. There are SO FEW options for that in South Meridian. We feel it would be a real shame to add so many more small lots; as we are friends with at least 20 families in Tuscany Neighborhood (where we moved from), who do not want to change middle schools or high schools but are searching for larger lots. We think it is important to have VARIETY in South Meridian like in North. South Meridian already has so many neighborhoods with R8. We love living in Meridian and the great developments that have been done in North Meridian. We would love for South Meridian to be developed very carefully with a lot of thought for green space, connectivity, and community. We are very excited about the YMCA and the Regional Park coming soon. 2 Thank you for your time and all your work in the community, Elise & Ryan Poulson Sky Mesa Residents
