HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - Andrea Tlucek Public Testimony - 6.141 Machelle Hill From:Andrea Tlucek <altprays4u@gmail.com> Sent:Wednesday, June 14, 2017 4:25 PM To:clerk Subject:Sky Mesa East We were advised to send this note to you. I hope you can forward it to those who need to see it on the Planning and Zoning Committee. We have some concerns with the proposed plans that are being submitted by Boise Hunter Homes for Sky Mesa East. The City of Meridian has encouraged diversity of housing, yet R-8 lots at Taconic and Eagle do not fit with this concept. There is a demand for homes with lots of a larger nature in Meridian and there is certainly a lack of them. In addition, the lots adjacent to some of the lots in Blackrock, have a ratio of 3:1. In other words, Blackrock owners will be looking at 3 homes for every one of theirs which could affect the property values and their investments. On the opposite side of Taconic along E Lodge Trail Rd, it is a 1:1 ratio. The transition from Blackrock to Sky Mesa East is poor and small. There needs to be a greater number of larger lots. As stated before, there is a and demand for them in the Meridian area. Plans for a "berm" along Eagle Road and at the corner of Eagle Road and Taconic are minimal. A larger berm with nice plantings , not unlike the berm across the street put in at Century Farms, ought to be added to the plan. We also have concerns about the traffic at Taconic and Eagle Road. Right now, at certain times of the day, one takes his life in his hands trying to join traffic on Eagle Road. Children cannot safely cross Eagle Road to get the school on the opposite side. We appreciate your thoughtful consideration of our concerns and look forward to further discussions and planning. Sincerely, Andrea and Laddie Tlucek altprays4u@gmail.com 5866 S.
