Letter from Burton Maxfield RECEIVE I) OCT 0' 2004 YI,'fIl.~ rrl"lsms. ~ City Of Meridian CitY Clerk Office Burt Maxfield Land RepÅ“oeotativ<: Williams Northwest Pipeline 295 Chipeta Way Mail Stop 3Q1 Soh Lake City, Utah 84108 October 5, 2004 (801) 584-6337, or I-W1J-453-3810 exl 6337 (801) 584-673SFax (801)209-5415 Cell REC: William Berg, City Clerk City of Meridian 33 East Idaho Avenue Meridian, ill 83642 OCT G 2004 City Å’ Meridim¡ Cit;y Cl"rk OffiCi) Dear Mr. Berg: Northwest Pipeline Corporation has received Notices of Hearing for two applications involving the northwest comer of South Locust Grove Road and East Overland Road. We welcome the project, but have one area of concern that we would like addressed. The proposed Locust Grove RoadJI-84 Overpass, when completed, will effectively eIirninate the existing entrance to Northwest's property, which is situated directly north of the Wrink1eneck Partners, LLC property. The raising of the existing roadbed for the overpass will increase the slope of the driveway into the property, making it impossible to enter the property with heavy equipment and tractor/trailers. The existing driveway would have to be relocated to the south end of the property; and, depending upon how this proposed development is constructed, that access may not be available. There have been some discussions with Wrink1eneck Partners about locating a new entrance to the south, directly to Overland Road. With the certain increase in traffic along Locust Grove Road because of the commercial developments and traffic to the existing high school, it will be difficult, and possibly a safety issue, to enter or exit our property trom Locust Grove Road, especially with trucks and trailers. We would like to resume discussions about an alternative entrance and exit with Wrink1eneck Partners and Mr. Ron Van Auker, or his representatives as soon as possible. We believe that a solution can be produced that is beneficial to all parties. We welcome any questions or concerns. Please call me at the numbers above, or you can contact Mr. Patrick Aman, Assistant District Manager of our Boise District, at (208) 884-4300. Sincerely, Burton Maxfield Land Representative
