Message Dear City Council Members, I am not a citizen of Meridian but I do have friends who live in your
area who would be greatly affected by a ban of home based businesses. As a fellow independent
business owner I strongly urge you to vote no against this measure that is being put forth by the City
Council. More often than not people who run their business from home are dependent on the income
that it brings in to support themselves and their families. These are not people who are out to scam
you or to take advantage of their neighborhood but hard working people trying to provide for their
families. They are single moms trying to put food on their table for their children, military families
who are working on bringing in income as their loved ones are overseas and entrepreneurs who are

just looking to make a difference in the world. I personally know several families who depend on
their home based business who are the most kind and generous people you will ever meet. They love
their city and do everything that they can to make it a better place not only for themselves but for
everyone they meet along the way. Please vote against this measure and allow home businesses to
