Dear Meridian City Council,
I have been an employee of Scentsy for nearly 8 years and a resident of the city of Meridian almost as
long. Scentsy has had a positive impact on my life, creating a career opportunity for me to support my
passion for fragrance and training, while generating income for my family.
The changes currently proposed to the city ordinance regarding home-based businesses, including
placing limits on the number of customers that would be allowed in any Meridian home, would
significantly hinder our Consultants’ ability to successfully conduct their businesses in Meridian. In most
cases, those same customers are friends. How does a city government, or any government, regulate and
limit the amount of friends one can have?
Given the amount of community involvement, jobs offered, and taxes paid by Scentsy to the city of
Meridian, I find it shocking that this ordinance is even being suggested. Doesn’t that bite the hand that
feeds you?
Please reject these proposed changes as they would have a devastating impact on everyone who runs a
home-based party plan business, and creates jobs for Meridian residents.
Thank you for your support,
Sara Walker
