We've owned several businesses and now own an international Scentsy business. We welcome Consultants to beautiful Meridian from all over the world every year and we love showing off our hometown. We've entertained Scentsy Consultants from Scotland, England, Australia, France, Mexico, Canada, and other countries. Our Meridian-based Scentsy business is truly international and is the best business we have developed. As a result of our Scentsy business I have been able to volunteer as a coach for my children's local sports teams for the last 6 years. My wife has been able to serve on parent teacher organizations and volunteer for events at our children's elementary and middle school. Without the flexibility of our Scentsy business we would be severely limited in our ability to contribute to our community. Passing a law that unnecessarily restricts a core activity of our business would deal severe blow to our business. I am confused and surprised that these discriminatory restrictions are even being considered. They represent a breach of basic, fundamental American rights and ideals. There is no benefit gained from passage of these unnecessary restrictions worth sacrificing the bas ic freedom to exercise a legal, legitimate business. It is beyond the authority of the city of Meridian to pass laws targeting the direct selling industry that restrict the legal activities of growing a business. We love living in Meridian and are surprised and shocked that our legitimate business that has blessed our life, and so many others are pins the world that brings them to Meridian, and allowed us to contribute to our community in so many ways for so many years, is being threatened by a law that is nothing more than a blatant attack against an entire industry. Please reject these restrictions tonight and allow us to continue to grow our business. Dave and Becky Sattler 2060 East Lobelia, 83646 208-340-5923
