Scentsy has had a positive impact on my life, creating a business opportunity for me to share my passion for fragrance and generate income. The changes currently proposed to the city ordinance regarding home-based businesses, including placing limits on the number of customers that would be allowed in any Meridian home, would significantly hinder my ability to successfully conduct my business in Meridian. Please reject these proposed changes as they would have a devastating impact on everyone who runs a home- based party plan business like mine. I would literally lose my home because of the loss of income that would result of these proposed changes. If every town across America had similar legislation, Scentsy would crumble. Scentsy’s sales are in the billions and a large portion of those sales are generated through customers who come to our homes and through our own home parties and open houses. Please consider how Scentsy and Damsel in Defense (also based in Meridian), bring in a lot of revenue for our community. That loss in revenue would surely impact our city. Meridian should set a positive precedent.
