There are already apartments where we were promised there would be none. We live in Lochsa Falls and would like to see the land used the way it is written in the Lochsa Falls agreement, with office space. The following are just a few of the reasons we are against the proposal: Density: If approved Kelly Creek immediate community would be nearly 60 percent single family homes, 40 percent rental units – ratio is too high. Would impact Kelly Creek private park and common areas as proposed project lacks amenities. Nearly 250 rental units with unlimited access to Kelly Creek park and common areas, supported solely by Kelly Creek HOA dues, is not acceptable, nor is it fair. Unfair to Change the Rules after We Purchased Our Homes: This parcel is R-4/Office as outlined in the Locsha Falls Development Agreement - Low density with 11 office buildings. We oppose changes to the Development Agreement to allow more rental units. We trust our elected officials, the Meridian City Council, will abide by the City of Meridian KEY COMMUNITY VALUES which include (1) managing growth to achieve high- quality development and (2) enhance Meridian’s quality of life for all current and future residents. This project accomplishes neither of these values. We are counting on you to pu t the needs of our community and the City of Meridian first and take the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission and deny this project. This parcel is not the right location for more multi-family units. Schools: It is unacceptable to add more rental units where there is school overcrowding. Even after tightening the boundaries our schools are over capacity. (Rocky Mountain has a capacity of 1800 students, and presently 2312 are enrolled. They are in the process of bringing in two more portable classrooms. Sawtooth Middle School has a capacity of 1,000 students and presently has 1080 students enrolled.) Willow Creek Elementary is near capacity. Thank you for considering our request. Elizabeth Grime
