HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - ITD Comments April 28, 2017 C.Jay Coles City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2017-0032 HASTINGS SUBDIVISION NO. 3 The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the referenced combined preliminary and final plat application and request for modification to the existing development agreement to remove the number of office buildings for 2100 and 2160 West Everest Lane located south of US-20/26 (West Chinden Boulevard) milepost 36.95. ITD has the following comments: 1. ITD does not object to the combined preliminary and final plat application and request for modification to the existing development agreement for the property at this location. 2. No access to the State Highway system is requested with this application and none is approved. 3. ITD has completed a corridor study of US-20/26. The corridor study shows the future corridor width will need to be 200 feet wide. It is unclear from the submitted documents if the applicant has taken this into consideration and left sufficient clear area to avoid impacts to buildings and any greenspace that may be required by the City of Meridian. A view of the corridor study plan for this area can be found at: http://apps.itd.idaho.gov/apps/us2026CorridorStudy/Strip-Maps.pdf. 4. The City is reminded that the US-20/26 Corridor is already congested. This project may increase the number of vehicle trips in the corridor. ITD has no current funding assigned to widen US-20/26. 5. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway system. 6. IDAPA 39.03.60 rules govern advertising along the State highway system. The applicant can contact the ITD District 3 Traffic Section at 334-8300 for more information. If you have any questions, you may contact Shona Tonkin at 334-8341 or me at 332-7190.
