Hello,
My name is Alyssa Villanueva. I am a home owner located in Weaver Acres, located off of Ustick and Curt Drive. I,
along with other home owners, am concerned about new residential homes that have been approved to be built on
Ustick and Curt Drive. Many of us attended the public hearing on April 20th at Meridian City Hall, and were appalled
that Chris Furman, with New Beginnings, was given approval to build homes without our approval. We have many
concerns.
We are concerned the negative impact this will have on our property value. My husband and I selected this area
with the idea that our property value would not be negatively impacted by this type of situation. We are concerned
with the safety of our children, and what this type of housing will bring to our community. The location of the
approved lot is where school children are picked up and dropped off every school day. We are also concerned with
New Beginnings using the homes to house up to ten (non relative) residents in each home. We are also concerned
that there is the possibility of New Beginnings purchasing the other lots on Ustick for the same purpose. This
location for New Beginnings does not make sense. We are surrounded (please look at our surrounding area) by
single family residents. Two large subdivisions that surround us are Copper Basin and Sundance. That does not
include subdivisions on the other side of Ustick that will be impacted. How is this allowed without the surrounding
homeowners approval?
What can we do, as homeowners, to prevent New Beginnings from affecting our community?
Sincerely,
Alyssa Villanueva
