Subject:Goddard Creek Apartments Opposition!
My husband and I are vehemently opposed to more apartments going in at Goddard and McMillan. The simple
argument is the fact that McMillan and the entrance to the Kelly Creek neighborhood would be BADLY congested. We
already have issues coming out onto McMillan with too much traffic...I have SEEN near accidents and was nearly
involved in one as well. It's already dangerous with the amount of vehicles coming in and out!! The second, less
attractive opposition is the effect apartment dwellers will have on our neighborhood. The quality of non-home owners
without a stake in the place where they live compared our home owner status is deeply concerning. Not only traffic, but
trash, crime, apathy, drugs, safety of our children are all considerations this developer AND the City of Meridian should
take into consideration. Presently, kids from the apartments are coming over to our park vandalizing trees, writing
disgusting things on the cement with sidewalk chalk, teens are hanging out on the swing sets at night, etc. I'm sorry to
say that but we have a large investment in our homes and when these issues develop, our values (and the property
taxes!) will be reduced ....we do not agree with the re-zoning! Please let my word resonate within the City Council and
take our issues to heart.
