The Woodbridge Community truly appreciates the efforts of the Meridian City Council and Mayor de Weerd to
select the right developments and projects for the benefit of all residents. We want to thank, the City of
Meridian for supporting a positive quality of life. We, as you, are always concerned about the type and quality
of development near our neighborhood.
The last project, named Pope's Garden, was opposed by the Woodbridge community, because the density of
the development would have caused significant traffic to travel through our neighborhood. The new project,
called Meridian Meadows, is a much better fit for this parcel. It is a medical facility, meeting the land use
intention of the comprehensive plan. It will not solve the traffic problems for Woodbridge, but it will create a
smaller number of trips through our community.
We do not support Hickory Way as a road linking Greenhill estates with Magic View Dr. for two reasons. The
nature of the traffic issue in Woodbridge is an east -west issue. Routing traffic through Greenhill heading North
would not help us and would burden these homeowners with additional traffic on roads with no sidewalks or
lights. Secondly, as stated by the developer, this excellent project will not be built due to land constraints if
Hickory Way is mandated to go through. Therefore, we ask that you approve this project without Hickory Way,
as it was voted by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
We are realistic and understand that development is needed in the area West of St. Luke's. We are hopeful
that a solution to our traffic problems can be found. At the last meeting, the City Council suggested a letter be
sent to ACHD to have a traffic study done prior to any new developments. We have not heard that there was a
response, but we can support this project. We hope you will encourage ACHD and P&Z to look for more
permanent solutions to our traffic problems.
Thank you for your consideration.
