HomeMy WebLinkAboutJosh DavisMy name is Josh Davis and I reside at 2464 East Cyanite Drive, in the Blackrock subdivision. The lot I own is larger than a half acre, with immediate neighbors having substantially larger properties. I am writing because I oppose the R-8 zoning of the East Ridge Estates subdivision. The residential properties on all sides of this proposed development share continuity of single-family estate homes. This zoning would undermine the value of the existing homes. The East Ridge Estates request for R-8 zoning is also in conflict with multiple points of the city's Master Plan. Most notably I do not see how this, "Manages Meridians growth to achieve high quality development." The use of East Cyanite Drive as the construction access for East Ridge Estates also creates a problematic scenario. While the developer could easily create an access off of Lake Hazel, which must constructed in the near future, they are instead trying to route all traffic through an existing single-family home subdivision. There are bus stops and multiple intersections that create potential hazards along this path. The safety, logistics, and efficiency of using an entry off Lake Hazel outweigh all considerations of using the Blackrock subdivision to access this development. As the property where I reside was once developed, I am in no way opposed to the development of this land. However, I would like to see some considerations put in place so there is a continuation of quality structures. This would support Meridians Key Values by, "Enhancing Meridians quality of life for all current and future residents." Thank you,
