Broadway Ave. Meridian, Idaho 83642 Re: Proposed East Ridge Estates Subdivision H-2016-0137 Dear Mayor DeWeerd and Members of City Council: I am writing to express my concern and opposition to the lot sizes proposed in the East Ridge Estates Subdivision on Lake Hazel Road. I have lived out in this rural community for 11 years and am very concerned that the East Ridge Subdivision is not consistent with the look and feel of the area. I understand that development is important, but this development is not appropriate based on the existing homes surrounding it. To protect the existing home owners and our community, I am respectfully requesting that you: ® Deny the developer's request for R-8 zoning, and • Require the developer to offer % acre, % acre and lacre lots like Blackrock instead of the currently proposed 6,000 and 7,000 square foot lots. Approving this subdivision with such small lots will look entirely out of place with all the other homes around it. It seems like it would make more sense to require lots that are the same size or bigger than the lots in Blackrock and more equivalent to the lots on East side of the property. Cramming 117 houses on that property doesn't make sense based on the % acre to 2 acre lots with much nicer homes on either side of it.
