HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter from Ronald Howell OBJECTION To Vacation on Lots 43-45 and Lots 88-91,Block 23 of Ashford Greens Subdivision No.2 Brighton Corporation I as a homeowner (2396 Crooked Creek) in the James Place Section of Ashford Greens object to the above vacation. My objection is for the following two reasons. 1. There are 73 lots in James Place, an"Over 55 Community" within Ashford Greens. About 45 or 50 homes have been built so far and they range in size wm about 1500 sq. ft. to 2100 sq. ft. These are basically patio homes generally housing one or two adults. Now, when the well planned community of James Place is 2/3 constructed the developer wants to convert 3 lots( 43-45) into 2 lots and 4 lots(88-91) into 3 lots. The intent of this conversion is to accommodate larger homes on the converted lots. I feel that the original intent for the size and type of homes in James should be maintained and not changed two-thirds of the way through the project. The size and style of homes in the last one-third of the development should be consistent with what was built in the first two-thirds of construction. 2. By allowing this conversion of 3 to 2 lots and 4 to 3 lots, two out of 73 lots will be lost. This means thatwe will lose two monthly homeowners fees (currently at $155) for maintenance of James Place. The burden of the loss of these monthly fees will have to be shared by all homeowners. This is not fair to the existing homeowners and is not what was originally intended when James Place was planned(73 lots). For these reasons I feel that the City of Meridian should disapprove this vacation on lots 43-45 and 88-91 in Ashford Greens Subdivision No.2.
