Machelle,
I am forwarding to you the attached email in hopes that it can be given to the City Council for the meeting this
evening on my behalf. Since I know there are deadlines for submissions to the City Council, I want to
document that I would like to be represented at the meeting tonight by a proxy if that is possible.
Thank you,

Subject: City Council Meeting 01/17/2017
Warren and Ken,
I am ill and on steroid and anti-biotic meds. for a severe case of bronchitis and asthma, so I won't be able to
attend and speak at the City Council Meeting tonight as I intended.
I had prioritized the following issues to support our neighborhood's best interests and am hoping that my
thoughts and words can be shared on my behalf:
I would like to make a case that the infrastructure, included the widening of the round-about at Eagle and
Amity as well as the widening of Eagle Road and Amity should be completed
prior to approval of or building of the Plaza. I would liken it to a residential developer being required to put in
streets and other infrastructure prior to building homes in a residential development. It just does not make
sense to "put the cart before the horse". The community and residents will suffer from the resulting chaos if
this is not done.
Then I would ask the City Council to consider the following recommendations:
1. Approval of the Developer recommended "right in" lane entrance to the plaza on Eagle traveling from
the north to keep traffic flowing on Eagle and prevent accidents,
although ACHD did not feel it was necessary or recommend it at this time. The "right in" lane on the Zaldia
and Eagle entrance to Tuscany facilitates continuous flow of traffic
on Eagle and is effective and another "right in" lane is warranted if the plaza is approved.
2. Approval of the ACHD and P&Z recommended R8 residential zoning with a provision that it won't be
changed at a later date when the residential phase is started.
3. If the City Council does not approve a wall on the east side of the plaza along Montague, then approval of
the new entrance off of Montague between Santo Stefano and Mt. Etna
as recommended by the Developer, ACHD and P&Z.
4. Change the name of the new Eagle entrance to the Plaza from Mt. Etna to a new name not associated with
Tuscany.
5. Completion of the east side of Montague Road at the same time the Plaza goes in rather than waiting until
the residential phase as recommended by P&Z.
I am sorry I will miss the meeting and hope that a proxy will be allowed to present this on my behalf.
Thanks,
Marcella Peterson
