Eagle Road Eagle, Idaho 83616 City of Meridian City Clerk Office RE: Letter of Reference To Whom It May Concern: It is with pleasure that I write in support of Spring Creek Manor. My mother is a resident and is very pleased with her quality of life, professionalism and care that the staff provides to her. Spring Creek Manor is a quiet, well maintained, manicured location that is ideal for seniors in the community. They provide dignity and to those who no longer can live independently. In addition, Spring Creek Manor offers an important and needed service to the community. They employ many local residents and are involved in the community by being members of the Chamber of Commerce as well as facilitating community interaction with the residents. Spring Creek Manor hosts dance groups, singing and musical groups, girl and boy scout groups, church youth groups to entertain, visit or serve the residents. Further, the library is involved in a reading program with the residents and a Sunday school class ITom a nearby church meets at Spring Creek Manor on Sundays. Our family did a great deal of research into the facilities that were available for our mother. It was a great location for her and has been proven as a wise choice because of her happiness and comfort with her new home. It is often times difficult for seniors to give up their independence but because of the quality oflife at Spring Creek Manor, my mother has adjusted extremely well to her environment. Sincerely, L G Bates CADC President Greater St Anthony Chamber Of Commerce RECEIVED SEP - 7 2004 August 2,2004 City of Meridian City Clerk Office Edith Kopp 2781 Moonlight Lane American Falls, ID 83211-5432 To whom it may concern: My mother, Dorothy Burgemeister, has been a resident of Spring Creek Manor in American Falls, Idaho, since March of 200 1, not too long after the facility opened. It was an answer to a prayer for our family. My mother had suffered a heart attack in early February, and underwent quintuple by-pass surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Due to complications, she was "slow to recover", and after being released :&om LDS Hospital, was transferred to Pocatello Regional Medical Center for rehab. In March when she was able to be released :&om the hospital, she was not ready to return to her own home in American Falls, but she did not need a nursing home. At that time, we toured the new facility of Spring Creek Manor in American Falls, and felt it the ideal place for Mom to move to- maybe on a temporary basis. The physical therapist ITom Harms Memorial Hospital in American Falls could come there to give her additional needed therapy. The staff could cook her meals, and administer her medications. Spring Creek has been "home" to Mom ever since. It is a beautiful facility, with caring people working there, who have loved and taken care of Mom. The other people who live there have become her extended family. Since the first time Mom developed the stomach flu in the middle of the night in the autumn of2001, she realized that it was a very comforting feeling to have someone around 24 hours a day to check on you, and take care of you. It was also a great comfort to me to know that she had that care. She no longer talked about going "home." Spring Creek is Mom's home, and she can come and go anytime for visits, church, shopping or just to go for a ride. We check her in and out so the staff knows where she is and when she will return. We eat meals there with her on occasion, and they have been good and tasty. Overall, Spring Creek has been a wonderful addition to our community, and a beautiful home for those who have worked hard in life, and now want someone to take care of their needs. Sincerely, ~~ Edith Kopp RECEIVED SEP - 7 2004 I July 2, 2004 City of Meridian City Clerk Office To Whom It May Concern: Just a note to let you know how well I like Spring Creek Manor for my dad. After being at home alone for 6 years it was quite an adjustment for him to leave his home and give up his independence (driving). Spring Creek Manor has done a wonderful job of helping him adjust. The staff has been great. They set the mood for the clientele. Those who work there are really handpicked for the job. They're :!Tiendly and are always there ready and willing to help with anything and everything. The medical needs are met efficiently and are well monitored. The food is excellent and well presented. My husband and I have enjoyed a couple of meals with daddy and even when my daughter and a couple of grandkids showed up at Sunday dinner unannounced they were made to feel welcome and we all had a delicious turkey dinner. My dad is eating better and enjoying it more. I think he likes company at the dinner table. I'm in and out about twice a day, we live close and I take him out for a rides quite often. I've watched Daddy change from hibernating in his room to eating in the dining room and sitting in the reception room. He enjoys watching TV on the big screen and visiting and teasing the staff, His comment about Spring Creek Manor, "Couldn't find a better place!!" Three years ago I had to make the decision as to who would care for my great- aunt as she didn't want to live with any relatives. Placing her in our local nursing home was an option but not after I visited the new assisted living center. How fortunate for my aunt and all family concerned that Spring Creek had chosen American Falls to build a new facility only two months prior. The move from her ranch house of 87 years to Spring Creek went more smoothly than I could ever have imagined. As she is a widow and has no other relatives in state, I am grateful for additional loving family she has in the caregivers at Spring Creek and the caring community. In addition to this experience, six months ago my mother had brain surgery for Parkinson's disease and again as primary caregiver was forced to make the decision as to where she would receive the best 24 hour care. The decision was made easier because I had first hand knowledge of the fme care my aunt had been receiving at Spring Creek. My mother is adjusting well to her new home and my out of state family rests in the comfort of having her live in the same community as me. Another crucial benefit is that this facility accepts Medicaid provision affecting the finances of one of my relatives. Spring Creek is a hands?me facility and an asset to our community. My mother has had several out of state visitors over the last few months and they have all commented on how beautiful the interior and exterior of building and the lovely landscaping at Spring Creek. The community of American Fall~ has the opportunity to participate in the daily activities and lives of our elderly beca'CÌse of Spring Creek. Besides the added economic benefits of employment opportunities for our citizens, there are many opportunities also for our schools and youth groups to learn volunteerism at the facility. The various musical and dance groups, church and library programs that visit Spring Creek keep these elderly folks in more contact with their community than they might ever have at home with family or hospice care. Spring Creek Assisted Living Center provides a wonderfu11oving atmosphere for the residents and again, we as a small rural community are so blessed to have such a fme facility to care for our loved ones. I have been impressed with the fiiendly and courteous staff and the support they render to the patients they serve. They have fined a significant need in this region for patients who do not require full skined nursing home care. They do provide a variety of activities and do work with the patients with group exercise program and ambulating patients to and trom meals to maximize their independence to the extent possible. They have been diligent in fonowing though with the medical needs of their patients and overall has been a positive asset to the commrmity. My name is Lee Hamilton, Occupational Therapist and Rehab Manager at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley. Over the past two years I have worked closely with Stan Turner and the staff of Spring Creek. Spring Creek has become a premiere assisted living facility in the area and one of our favorite places to recommend to people who need assisted living. Over the years we have discharged several residents :!Tom our rehab unit to Spring Creek and have followed most of those residents with home therapy. I can honestly say that every resident I have ever referred there has had a positive experience, has been well cared for and has been treated like family. I have been a therapist in the area 9 years and have provided service in most of the assisted living facilities in town. Spring Creek is a special place that provides optimal care and really makes the residents feel like they are at home. The facility is clean, comfortable and bright. The staff is stable, positive, respectful, professional and truly care about their residents, I understand Spring Creek is hoping to expand their services into other areas. I would highly recommend Spring Creek Manor to anyone and I am confident they will continue to be a premiere provider in any area they enter.
