Watertower Lane, Suite 250 Meridian, ID 83642 July 19,2004 Dear Allna, The Meridian Chamber ofCommeree Board of Directors has reviewed the,propose amendments to the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, After much discussion, and lak g into account the recommendation of our Economic Development CoL!lJJlitlee to support hcse changes, the Board has voted unanimously to support the purpose and intent of the roposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, as,being positive for business growtlJ, The Chamber Board is confident that, sho,uJd these amendments be adopted, thc M ridian City CoUIJ,cil "'{ill endeavor to be conservative in granting rezoning requests under these hanges, Thc Chanibcr is cspecially concerned that allowing additional commercial development along arterials and section line roads adds to traffic congestion and transpoltation manag ent issues. In particular, the Chamber is concerned that we do not create another traffic probl similar to Eagle Ròad, where numerous curb cuts and uncontrolled access have becomc majo transportation headaches, Thc Board's concern is focused mainly on the future of en Mile Road, We trust that the City and ACHD will considcr these issucs as thcy plan for cridian's , future, Sin~~~~ I~ qc D.
