Dear Allna,
The Meridian Chamber ofCommeree Board of Directors has reviewed the, propose
amendments to the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, After much discussion, and lak g into
account the recommendation of our Economic Development CoL!lJJlitlee to support hcse
changes, the Board has voted unanimously to support the purpose and intent of the roposed
amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, as,being positive for business growtlJ,
The Chamber Board is confident that, sho,uJd these amendments be adopted, thc M ridian City
CoUIJ,cil "'{ill endeavor to be conservative in granting rezoning requests under these hanges, Thc
Chanibcr is cspecially concerned that allowing additional commercial development along
arterials and section line roads adds to traffic congestion and transpoltation manag ent issues.
In particular, the Chamber is concerned that we do not create another traffic probl similar to
Eagle Ròad, where numerous curb cuts and uncontrolled access have becomc majo
transportation headaches, Thc Board's concern is focused mainly on the future of en Mile
Road, We trust that the City and ACHD will considcr these issucs as thcy plan for cridian's ,
future,
Sin~~~~ I~
