Subject: Firenze Plaza Rezone Request
Thank you Josh for ensuring the Commissioners review this communication prior to the meeting.
Attention Planning and Zoning Commissioners
You are scheduled to review the Firenze annexation comprehensive plan amendment and re-zone. We oppose the
proposed Firenze development and request you recommend denial of this request. We are being forced into a
commercial development that will cause undue hardship for the Tuscany neighborhood. We purchased property with
the understanding that the entire area was zoned for a low density residential neighborhood. Increased crime will lower
our property value. In addition increased traffic within the Eagle Road/Amity area and within the neighborhood as a
whole will be very hazardous and will lower our property value. It is already difficult to exit the subdivision on Eagle
road.
Children play in the small front yards throughout the neighborhood Including Santo Stefano Dr., Mount Etna Dr., and
Taormina. These roads were clearly not developed for increased hazardous traffic and will be negatively impacted by
this development. There are bus stops on Eagle Road and Zaldia. Additional traffic and added round-a-bouts would be a
tremendous hazard.
We respectfully request you give serious consideration to Tuscany neighbor concerns and do not force Firenze Plaza
development on our Tuscany subdivision. Please recommend the entire request be denied. This development would be
2
better suited on Meridian Road or a similar commercial area that is not in the middle of a low density residential
subdivision.
Thank you for your consideration.
