HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - Public Testimony by Tina Velasquez - 12.131 Machelle Hill From:Tina Velasquez <bobina13@msn.com> Sent:Monday, December 12, 2016 8:47 PM To:clerk; citycouncil; Machelle Hill Subject:Concerns of the Firenza Plaza To whom this may concern, We just moved in to Tuscany (Messina Meadows) Subdivision in October 2016 off of S. Stromboli Pl. we weren't aware of all this land being developed as commercial property and I'm not sure we would have bought this house due to knowing this would have been commercial land along with apartments or townhouses that could be built by a production builder (Hubble Homes, CBH Homes, Hayden Homes, etc) that could lower the value of our home which is a huge concern because it took us over 6 months to do our homework on what builder does quality work on homes if we ever were to resale. Plus I don't really want my property value to drop due to those builders bringing in lower income homes with lower income families to not keep the neighborhood nice. That being said town homes and apartments would do just that as well. It's affordable for people which is great! Traffic was a huge concern of mine since I have trouble sleeping and I took in consideration of all the new homes being built but wasn't aware of commercial property plus we have a 6 year old and I really don't need all the traffic going on through our street. Also with commercial property coming in there will be semis at all hours of the night not just at business times. I work in retail and so does my husband and we know that they go wherever is convenient or faster for those drivers. Connecting streets into our neighborhood would make traffic horrendous and not so safe for our children out playing by their homes. We all know that people will cut through the neighborhood to get home and speed too! I have done that myself in other areas so I know others will do the same. Please take into our consideration of our neighborhood. It new too us but may not be for long. We have talked about selling if this becomes too big of an issue for us. This was to be our forever home but may not be come a year or so down the road. Thank you! Jason & Tina Velasquez Tina Velasquez Sent from my iPhone
