Well folks,
After seeing the new ACHD recommendation I had to scrap my intended comments on turning Mt Etna Dr into a quarter
mile drag strip. Putting a couple of elbows into the street and running into
E. Santo Stefano Dr. will surely slow speeds and change the feel of the access from major arterial to neighborhood
access. The revised plan should also not inconvenience drivers. Please do not take this comment as support for the
entire project but one of, this is the least
offensive and safest for our neighborhood.
Of continuing concern is the dramatic change in the cities future plans for the parcel from Low and Medium residential
to Commercial/Mixed use.
The “mixed use” classification appears to be a stepping stone for future changes. There are too many examples around
the valley where well founded/intended public projects were chipped away by
developers “gotta haves”, resulting in a mess. The best example is N Eagle Rd.
