Subject: 12/8/16 Revised Proposal for Firenze Plaza Development
I am a resident in Tuscany Subdivision and live on Santo Stefano Drive. I am writing to express my concern and
opposition, as well as the concern and opposition of the 30+ other residents who live on Santo Stefano Drive
to the Firenze Plaza as proposed, in particular, the 12/8 revised proposal submitted by The Land Group that
Santo Stefano Drive, a residential, 25 mph street with home fronts and driveways facing the street, no
street curbing (only swales), be extended from the west directly into the commercial center. Our opposition
is based on the same facts concerning the increased traffic, the safety of families and children who live on
these streets and the future property value of our homes that are taken into account by those opposing the
use of Mt. Etna and Taormina as thoroughfares directly into the commercial center.
I am respectfully requesting that if it is going to be recommended by ACHD and/or P&Z that a street in
Tuscany must provide entrance to the commercial center off of Montague, that the alternative street be a
new street directly from Montague, north of Amity and south of Zaldia, and between Mt. Etna and Santo
Stefano Drive, which does NOT connect directly to any residential neighborhood street in Tuscany that has
home fronts facing the street and driveways wher e children play, cross the street to play with other children
and ride their bikes. This is an alternative that is shown and stated in the 12/8 revised proposal and
we request that the proposal be modified to use the new street mentioned as a viable alternative to Santo
Stefano Drive.
Thank you for your consideration of this request on behalf of the residents on Santo Stefano Drive.
Sincerely,
Marcella Peterson
