From: Meg Wood [mailto:megletwood@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 30, 2016 4:16 PM To: Joshua Beach Subject: Firenze Plaza Proposal Good Afternoon, I am writing this email to express some concerns that I have for the Firenze Plaza center that has been proposed. We are relativel y new residents to Tuscany, and adore the nice, quiet neighborhood that we live in. We moved here about 10 months ago, and we are not terribly happy about the proposal of a commercial development at the corner of Eagle and Amity. You see, we previously lived on North Eagle road, and moved to South Meridian to escape the traffic and the noise. To have a safe, quiet place where our kids could ride their bikes, play in the front yard and just be kids. The proposal of a commercial development, plus town homes and/or other businesses raises serious concern. 1.) In the 10 months we have lived here, we have watched the traffic increase on Amity road to a steady stream of cars all da y long. When we first moved in, there were virtually no cars seen during the day. With the upcoming addition of Paisley Meadows and White Bark, it will only increase. 2.) The traffic increase on Amity will make our neighborhood a "pass through" neighborhood in order to avoid traffic, and in order to reach the proposed commercial/housing quicker. This means greater risk for the children of our neighborhood. 3.) The proposal of making Mt. Etna an entrance into our neighborhood increases that likelihood of becoming the "pass through" neighborhood I previously mentioned. If this occurs, it will mean that buying/selling homes in our neighborhood will be more difficult. No one wants to purchase a home in a neighborhood where people are racing through constantly. 2 4.) There is presently a bus stop on the corner of Montague/Amity-any additional traffic on Montague will increase the odds of children getting hurt, or worse, killed, by a motor vehicle. 5.) Most of the children in this neighborhood walk to Sienna Elementary, or ride their bikes. I cannot stand to think about how many people already don't pay attention to the kids walking home from school, or riding their bikes. We don't need to increase the odds here either. 6.) Considering that a new Winco is going in between Locust Grove and Eagle road, I don't feel that we need to add another grocery store added in so close to our neighborhood. In reality, there are SEVERAL grocery stores within a 3 mile radius that should cover the needs of Tuscany and any other surrounding neighborhoods. Tuscany is a quiet neighborhood. It is a wonderful community, with good neighbors who watch out for each other, and it will be completely changed if we allow this development to go through as proposed. Seeing that piece of property from our driveway makes it so much more real for us. We don't want to stare at two story town homes, and a grocery store. We want it to be developed into the same type of neighborhood that we already have, a community, just like Tuscany. Any other way would mean that all of the reasons we purchased our home here would be thrown out the window. We beg you, please don't turn South Eagle road into what it's northerly half is, let's keep it as a friendly, non city place to live. Thank you for your consideration. Meg Wood 2553 E.
