RESOLUTION NO. 04-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, SETTING FORTH FINDINGS AND ESTABLISHING THE
NAME CHANGE OF NORTH LAKES AVENUE TO N. LAKES PLACE,
WITHIN THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, IDAHO:
WHEREAS, approval of the name North Lakes Avenue with the Devon Park Mixed
Use Development was initially granted by the Ada County Street Name Committee, which
committee subsequently reversed its approval and denied the same; and
WHEREAS, before the reversal of the approval, the developer of Devon Park Mixed
Use Development platted the development using the original name; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the reversal by the Ada County Street Name Committee, it
is essential to establish a new name for that street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO, as follows:
SECTION 1. FINDINGS: The City Council has established by ordinance, Chapter 2, Title
8 of the Meridian City Code, Uniform Street Name and Address Number Code, setting forth
certain directives regulating changing street names, and has provided therein a procedure and
criteria for changes to street names and for such to be approved by the City by Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Council finds that it is necessary and advisable in order to assure the
orderly use of streets within the City of Meridian under the jurisdiction and approval of Ada
County and the Ada County Highway District, to establish a name change trom North Lakes
Avenue to N. Lakes Place, and further fmds that such procedure and criteria is
nondiscriminatory and in the public interest for the management of Meridian City streets.
SECTION 3: City Council fmds that Ada County and the Ada County Highway District
have approved the change in street name trom North Lakes Avenue to N. Lakes Place and

that all procedures to process the name change have been followed, and having official
approval by Ada County, then said official street name shall be maintained on an official
street name map and official street name list filed in the office of the Ada County Highway
District. All official grid systems shall be shown on the Official Address Number Grid Map
in the office of the City Clerk.

1. That I am the duly appointed and elected Clerk of the City of Meridian, a duly
incorporated City operating under the laws of the State ofIdaho, with its principal office at 33 East
Idaho, Meridian, Idaho.
2. That as the CitYC~OfthiS~ecustodianofitsrecords and minutes and
do hereby certify that on the ~ day of r , 2004, the following action has been
taken and authorized.

FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE OF
NORTH LAKES AVENUE TO N. LAKES PLACE, FOR THE CITY OF MERIDIAN.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have the authority [pursuant to I.C. § 50-302] to
establish resolutions not inconsistent with the laws of the state of Idaho as may be expedient, in
addition to the special powers therein granted, to maintain the peace, good government and welfare
of the corporation and its trade, commerce and industry; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have deemed it expedient and in the best interests of the
City of Meridian to change the name of North Lakes Avenue to N. Lakes Place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
as follows:
1. The name of North Lakes Avenue to N. Lakes Place has been changed as provided for
in the attached Exhibit "A" consisting of two (2) pages.
2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect II III ifill
