The Meridian Parks & Recreation Commission is a volunteer citizens' group that is created and
empowered to advise the City on issues relating to park facilities and recreation programs of the City.
Their mission is to gather input from staff and other qualified personnel on issues relating to the
creation and design of public parks and open spaces; to listen to public input; and to provide advice
and recommendations on parks and recreation related matters to the Mayor and City Council.

The joint meeting of the Community Liaison Committee, the Dog Park Task Force, and the
Parks Amenities & Signage Committee met on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Conference

at 6:10 p.m. by Community Liaison Committee Chairman Tom LeClaire.

1. Presentation for Meridian City Council Developed
The Dog Park Task Force (DPTF) discussed and approved a presentation that will be
presented at the April 13tH City Council Workshop. Chairman LeClaire will present the
PowerPoint presentation. Dog Park Task Force members are invited to the City
Council Workshop on the 13tH. It will be at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.
They are also invited to the Meridian Parks and Recreation Commission Workshop
meeting at 8:30 p.m. on April 14tH
Action Items:
Director Siddoway and Chairman LeClaire will follow up on two tasks before
the April 13tH meeting with City Council. One will be to ask the City of
Nampa for estimates on donations received at their dog park over the last
year. These estimates will be added to the financing plan slide in the
PowerPoint presentation. Siddoway and LeClaire will also reword the last
slide summarizing the benefits of the dog park for the City of Meridian.

• LeClaire will present the approved PowerPoint presentation for the concept
plan and the financing proposal for the Borup dog park to the Meridian City
Council on April 13th at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
• Chairman LeClaire will report the findings of this meeting and of the City
Council Workshop to the MPR Commission at the MPR Commission workshop
on April 14th at City Hall at 8:30 p.m.
Committee Recommendations to Commission:
• The DPTF recommends that the MPR Commission and the City Council
support a concept plan and financing proposal for a new dog park at the
Borup property. In addition, that City Council supports a Conditional Use
Permit to be submitted to the Ada County Commissioners.
