Roll -call Attendance: X Steve Turney — Chair O Dr. Frank Thomason X Blaine Johnston — Vice Chair O Carol Harms X Dr. Tom Hammond X Joely Walters 2. Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda with the addition of item 9b by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by Blaine Johnston. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 3. Introduction of New Youth Member, Joely Walters: Presented 4. Presentation of the Historic Preservation Plan draft by TAG: Presented— Full copy of presentation and draft on file. 5. Approval of the July 11 and August 8, 2013, September 12, 2013 Minutes: Motion made to approve the minutes as presented by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by Blaine Johnston. All ayes — Minutes approved — No further discussion 6. 7. 8. 9. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Item continued to December 12, 2013 Current City Applications (Review and Comment): No updates to provide Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill: Lila Hill presented. Report on File Old Business Meridian Historic Preservation Commission Meeting — November 14, 2013 Page 1 of 3 All materials presented at public meetings shall become property of the City of Meridian. National Historic Preservation Conference Update: Dr. T. Hammond provided a verbal update. Support documents including brochures from the various classes attended is on file. b. Amended onto the Agenda: Walking Tour Update: J. Jones provided an update as to the status of the Walking Tour project. Commissioners will review the materials and the website presented and provided fol%w up comments or suggested changes at the December 92, 2013 meeting. 10. New Business a. Discussion on Converting Historic Slides to digital images: J. Jones and Lila Hill informed the Commission of the need to convert old slides into digital images for future use. J. Jones confirmed and Costco can convert to a digital image on a CD for $0.29 per image. Lila Hill would like to take small groups of slides and check quality before beginning the larger project. Motion to allow spending authority for the not -to -exceed amount of $200.00 to convert historical slides to digital images,- seconded by J. Walters. All ayes — Motion approved. No further discussion. b. Approval of the Annual Report: Annual report draft provided. Commissioners will review. Comments will be due by the December 12, 2093 meeting. c. Testimonial Request by TAG: Commissioners agreed to provide a testimonial letter to TAG recommending their company for their use. Commissioners will send comments to J. Jones within 2 weeks for submission to TAG. 11. Discussion of Upcoming Projects for 2013 and Public Outreach: No items were planned before the end of 2093. 12. Next Meeting: Thursday, December 12, 2013 a. Discussion of Possible Meeting Topics: Commissioners will discuss the draft Preservation Plan and prepare for a public meeting and will approve the annual report. MOTION MADE TO ADJOURN BY DR. T.
