COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 5:30 PM

2. Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda as presented by
Dr. T. Hammond, seconded by Dr. F. Thomason. All ayes - agenda adopted -
No further discussion.
3. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Motion made to approve the
financial statement as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by Dr. T.
Hammond. All ayes - agenda adopted - No further discussion.
4. FY2014 Budget Discussion: Budget discussed. No enhancements will be
needed. J. Jones will contact TAG and request that the 5 -year plan be divided
over the FY2013 and FY2014 budget years allowing a maximum of $2,500. 00
spent each fiscal year.
5. Current City Applications (Review and Comment): J. Jones informed the
Commission that the ordinance for the rezone of 807 N. Meridian Rd. is
scheduled to be approved on June 11, 2013.
6. Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill: Full report on file
Old Business
a. CLG Grant Status Update and Discussion: S. Turney motioned to
contact the State Historic Preservation Office and decline the CLG Grant
for FY2013; seconded by B. Johnston - All ayes, no further discussion. J.
Jones will contact Ann Swanson to notify her of this.

b. Idaho Sesquicentennial Update: J. Jones informed the Commission that
all plans are up to date and moving forward for the remaining
presentations. She informed the Commission that approximately 25
people attended the May 1, 2013 presentation.
New Business
a. Historical Downtown Signage Update: B. Johnston and Dr. F.
Thomason provided an update to the Commission regarding the first
meeting of the committee. Another meeting is scheduled later in May.
b. Comprehensive Plan Action Items Discussion: J. Jones provided the
Commission with a copy of the City's Comprehensive Plan. Historic
Preservation has been tasked with completing a historic plan for further
research and historical documentation, and having an accurate list with
the properties on the National Historic Properties register and information
on them.
9. Discussion of Upcoming Projects for 2013 and Public Outreach
a. Concerts on Broadway Participation: J. Jones informed the
Commission of the return of the Concerts on Broadway concert series. If
the Commission would like to have a presence at these events J. Jones
will provide materials to distribute. Commissioners will consider
participation and inform J. Jones.
10. Next Meeting: Thursday, June 13, 2013
