Broadway, Meridian, Idaho Roll -call Attendance: O Steve Turney — Chair X Blaine Johnston — Vice Chair O Dr. Tom Hammond X Dr. Frank Thomason X Carol Harms X Amber Nelson-Jerolleman 2. Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by A. Nelson-Jerolleman. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 3. Approval of the February 14, 2013 Meeting Minutes: Motion made to continue approval of the minutes until April 11, 2013 by A. Nelson-Jerolleman; seconded by C. Harms. All ayes — No further discussion. 4. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Motion made to approve the financial statement as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by A. Nelson- Jerolleman. All ayes — No further discussion. 5. Current City Applications (Review and Comment): Jacy Jones provided the Commission with an update on an application received for the Compton Home located at 807 N. Meridian road. The property will be rezone to bring its use into compliance with the current Unified Development Code. Parking will be added and other ADA requirements but it will not affect the structure of the building itself. The Commissioners did not have any issues with the application but will e- mail comments that they may have to the Clerk's Office. Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill Discussion of Idaho Sesquicentennial and Event Planning Public Awareness and Advertising Discussion: The first draft of the flyer for the May events was presented. Jacy Jones will work with Intern Rosie Nary to update the flyer and begin distribution in the schools and other networking sites. Dr. F. Thomason will print the flyer in the Valley Times so that it receives additional viewing. 8. Old Business a. State Highway 16 Mitigation Update: Dr. F. Thomason provided an update to the Commission regarding the status of the State Highway Mitigation funds. He attended the most recent meeting and heard TAG's presentation of the properties selected. We will remain involved as the funds begin to be spent on additional surveys. b. Annual Report to Council Update: A written copy of the report was provided to the Commission. S. Turney informed the Commission that the update was successful New Business a. Amended onto the Agenda: Historic Preservation Bylaws, Ordinance and Commissioner terms: The HPC Bylaws were provided to the Commission to review and will be discussed in the April meeting. Bill Nary also informed the Commission that an ordinance will be coming to Council during the first part of April regarding the Commissioner terms. The goal of the new ordinance will be to stagger the terms of the Commissioners and prevent all of the Commissioners' terms from expiring at the same time. b. Amended onto the Agenda: Expiration Dates of Commissioners: Bill Nary informed the Commissioners that 4 of the 6 seats are expiring in April and if the Commissioners are interested in continuing their involvement he requested that they send a letter of interest to the Mayor's Office. 10. Next Meeting: Thursday, April 11, 2013 a. Discussion of Possible Meeting Topics Amended onto the Agenda - Mayor De Weerd attending April 11, 2013 meeting to discuss project regarding the Walking Tour distribution: Jacy Jones informed the Commission of this presentation and will make sure it remains on the calendar.
