ACHD & City of Meridian,
As a resident of Tuscany and Mount Etna drive I am concerned about the proposal to connect any current
residential road to Eagle Road. I am also concerned about connecting any neighborhood streets directly to any
shopping centers. I oppose both proposals.
I would like to understand what traffic studies have been done regarding adding an additional intersection to
Eagle road in proximity to the current round about at Eagle road and Amity road. Can you please forward me a
copy of any studies? Adding additional intersections to Eagle road will create additional traffic issue for South
Eagle road.
Additionally by connecting any neighborhood street (Mount Etna) to any entrance of the commercial center is
not a good choice. It changes the purpose of Mount Etna from a residential road to a commercial thoroughfare
for multiple subdivision to reach the commercial center. The purpose of Eagle and Amity road is to serve as
commercial thoroughfare. Eagle & Amity Road should serve as the only access to the commercial
property. There is no logical reason to connect any neighborhood road to a commercial property. It defeats
planned residential subdivision purposes. The additional traffic is a safety issue, not only speed of traffic but
the quantity of traffic will create a higher likelihood of an vehicle and pedestrian incident.
