HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC - ITD Comments October 14, 2016 C.Jay Coles City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2016-0116 PP TM CROSSING The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the referenced two year time extension for preliminary plat application by Brighton Investments, LLC for TM Crossing Subdivision located at the northeast corner of I-84 and Ten Mile, north of I-84. ITD has the following comments: 1. ITD has no objections to the requested two year time extension for the preliminary plat of the TM Crossing subdivision being constructed in this location if all of ITD’s original requirements are maintained. The Ten Mile Interchange is an important link in the State Highway System and accommodates an increasing traffic volume. The originally required mitigation is necessary to maintain the current levels of traffic operations and safety. 2. No access is requested and none is approved with this application. I-84 is a full access controlled highway. 3. Access to Ten Mile Road in this location is restricted to permanent locations established during construction of the I-84/Ten Mile Interchange. 4. As this is a request for time extension only, ITD did not receive site plans with this application. ITD reserves the right to make further comments upon review of any site plans submitted in the future. 5. IDAPA 39.03.42.600.04 rules govern landscaping within ITD right-of-way. 6. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway. 7. IDAPA 39.03.60 rules govern advertising along the State highway system. The applicant can contact Dion Burch at 334-8355 for more information. 8. The City is reminded that the I-84 Corridor is already congested. This project will increase the number of vehicle trips in the corridor. ITD has no current funding assigned to mitigate traffic congestion in the I-84 corridor in this area. If you have any questions, you may contact Shona Tonkin at 334-8341 or me at 332-7190. Sincerely, Ken Couch Development Services Coordinator Ken.Couch@itd.idaho.gov
