HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - Public Testimony from Greg Ramp 8_98/9/2016
To Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Meridian,
I am writing to express my concerns on the application H-2016-0076 by David Alexander
for the annexation and zoning of 17 acres with an R-40 zoning district. This development
will consist of 204 dwelling units and will have access using Wilson Lane. This is where
I have an issue with the project.
I am 25% owner of H2NR LLC. That owns the AIRE Building at 2021 E. Wilson Lane. I
am also a 31 % Owner of AIRE Corp and a working officer in the company. We have an
average of 50 employees that use Wilson Lane every weekday. Our Company and Butte
Fence Company (our neighbor) are receiving about 20 large trucks a day. Both
companies have retail stores and Butte Fence has heavy traffic with small fence
contactors driving large pickup trucks pulling trailers. The only legal access to our
business is on Wilson lane as a few of my employees have been given tickets for cutting
through the business that front to Fairview. The entrance off of Locust Grove is often
;congested at high traffic times and it is apparent to me that the Wilson lane- Locust
Grove Intersection is at its capacity.
It is for this reason alone that I oppose this project. Another 200+ cars a day up to 1000
extra trips on Wilson lane will create a traffic mess that will affect not only our business
but all the business on Fairview that back up to Wilson. And during the construction and
the road may be blocked completely too large truck traffic.
I have seen plans to cut Wilson lane through to a new connecting road from Fairview to
Pine If this was done before the project is approved I will have no opposition to this
proj ect.
Sincerely, f `
Greg Ramp -`
