HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - Agency Comments   8/8/2016          City of Meridian  City Clerk’s Office, Attn: Sonya Watters  33 East Broadway Avenue  Meridian, ID 83642    Dear Planners:    Joint School District No. 2 (dba West Ada School District) has experienced significant and sustained growth  in student enrollment during the last ten years. Many of our schools throughout the district are operating  at or above capacity.  Approval of the Little Creek Subdivision will impact enrollments at the elementary,  middle school and high school levels in West Ada School District.  Based on U.S. census data, we can  predict that these homes, when completed, will house 163 school aged children.    West Ada School District supports economic growth; however, growth fosters the need for additional  school capacity.  In order to meet the need for additional school capacity, West Ada School District will  accept the donation of land appropriate for a school site. Passage of a bond issue will be required prior to  the commencement of new school construction.     New residents cannot be assured of attending the neighborhood school as it may be necessary to bus  students to available classrooms across the district.  The safety of our students is our first and foremost  priority. With this in mind, we ask that you encourage the developer to provide safe walkways, bike baths  and pedestrian access for our students.  School capacity and transportation is addressed in Idaho Code  67‐6508 ‐ future development will continue to have an impact on the district’s capacity.    Sincerely,        Joe Yochum  Assistant Superintendent ‐ Operations    ., CENTRAL DISTRICT CENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT Return to: HEALTH Environmental Health Division ❑ ACZ DEPARTMENT ❑ Boise ❑ Eagle Rezone # VA - 2-�%� ��P ❑ Garden City Conditional Use # ❑ Kuna Preliminary / Final / Short Plat Meridian L_\A'\-e- C ,4'ZeY— ❑ Star ❑ 1. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2016-76 LITTLE CREEK SUBDIVISION The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the referenced application for annexation, zoning, and conditional use permit for the Little Creek Subdivision located 147 N. Locust Grove Road, west of SH-55 (Eagle Road) for David Alexander. ITD has the following comments: 1. ITD has no objections to the annexation, zoning, and conditional use permit for the subdivision being constructed in this location. 2. The project does not abut the State highway system. 3. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway system. 4. IDAPA 39.03.60 rules govern advertising along the State highway system. Locust Grove Road Dear Jacy: There are no Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District facilities that will be impacted and all storm drainage is shown to be retained on site. Therefore, NMID will have no comment on the above -referenced application. Water is delivered to this site via Settlers Irrigation District. Please contact Mack Meyers at 208-344-2471 or P.O. Box 7571 Boise, ID 83707 for comments. All private laterals and waste ways must be protected. All municipal surface drainage must be retained on-site.
