Subject:June 23 P&Z meeting: Pope's garden development on Magic View drive
Dear City Clerk,
As a current resident of adjacent Woodbridge subdivision, I would like to express my deep disapproval for this
high density housing development proposal.
It is a fallacy to imagine that the proposed development residents would access their apartments solely from
Eagle rd. When faced with a choice, the few current residents of Magic View drive will overwhelmingly
choose to access or leave their residence via the Woodbridge community and Locust Grove Rd as opposed to
Eagle Rd in order to avoid the resulting congestion. The residents of these additional 76 proposed units would
make the same choice and tremendously increase traffic through the Woodbridge subdivision which as a
residential neighborhood is not designed to accommodate thoroughfare traffic of thousands of additional
vehicles per day.
Please, consider our children's safety when faced with the sudden increase of traffic through our residential
neighborhood that this high density development would create.
The adjacent neighbors are assessing this proposed development not in its singularity but in the long-term
context of future growth that is to come in the Magic View drive vicinity. Our goal is to reduce the inevitable
traffic increase that will come through the Woodbridge neighborhood in the near future and mitigate its impact
on our quality of life and the safety of our children.
A light office development would be much more congruent. It would be in line with assumed evolution of the
area as it was when we initially built our homes in Woodbridge and would receive the overwhelming support of
the adjacent neighborhoods.
Thank you for considering my comment and your dedication to smart growth and continued livability of our
dear city of Meridian.
