HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC - Citizen Letter from Chris Dixon - 6/21Lee and Dianne Centers P.O. Box 518 R-EC-EIVFT Meridian, ID 83680 JUN 13 2016 CITY OF MERIDIAN MAYOR'S OFFICE Becky McKay Engineering Solutions, LLP 1029 N. Rosario St., Ste. 100 Meridian, ID 83642 Dear Lee and Dianne (and Becky), Chris Dixon 1100 W. Amity Rd. Meridian, ID 83642 June 8, 2016 In light of the upcoming Meridian City Council Meeting and Public Hearing on June 21St, upon studying your plat and visiting with city officials, it has come to my attention that a stub street was not included to my property. The intent of this letter is to ask you to include an additional stub street to your plat to connect to Rosadero Ave. (west) and stub to my property line. I am sure you understand why this is important to me and as I was preparing to testify at the upcoming City Council meeting, it occurred to me that I should contact you directly as neighbors in hopes that we can reconcile this prior to the meeting. do not wish to hold up your project but feel very strongly about having a stub street provided to my property in the same way that you have provided one to both of the properties on either side of me. I was very supportive of the 1200 plus acre group annexation and know that annexation will benefit you in terms of expediting services to your proposed subdivision and will help to make your project a successful one. I took an active role in the annexation process by hosting several meetings in my home with neighboring land owner and having city officials on hand to answer their questions and dispel their concerns. I took it upon myself to contact our neighbors, find out their concerns, organize these meeting and make sure their questions and concerns got addressed. I was the "lynch pin" property to yours and as you know that congruent piece was needed to drive this whole 1200 plus acre group annexation. And now I find myself in a position to be the only bordering property without a stub street (and the other two properties on either side of me are being provided with stub streets even though they opted out of the group annexation). It is my hope that by coming to you directly before the upcoming meeting that we can, as neighbors and fellow land owners, that we can resolve this among ourselves and that we can add a stub street to your plat before the June 2111 meeting. Thank you very much for your consideration my request, Lee and Dianne. zf-is1qiX1O12n11 (208) 371-5000 cell cc: Meridian City Council Mayor Tammy de Weerd Sonya Watters, Assoc.
