Dear Mr. Millington:
Your email has been received by the Mayor’s Office. We appreciate you contacting us to let us know of your concerns
for the proposed changes to development plan for the Knighthill project. I will forward your comments to our City Clerk
for the record and to be included in the packet the Mayor and Council members receive for the public hearing. Once an
application is made, Mayor and Council are only able to make comments during the public hearing.
I have copied Josh Beach, the staff member assigned to this project. He will be able to answer any questions you may
have regarding the Modification of the Development Agreement or the process.
Thank you for your comments and being part of the public process.

Ms. Milam:
Tonight at your meeting you will be hearing a request for a special condition to put apartments in at the
southwest corner of Chinden and Linder. I would request that you vote no for this change. As I understand it, in
2006, the parcel in question was annexed and zoned commercial with the prohibition of apartments. The
2
meeting tonight would amend the original development agreement. Homeowners who bought in the vicinity
knew and anticipated that parcel being developed as a commercial piece of land. I have included a link to the
most recent City Zoning map.
nt-Zoning-Map.pdf )
It appears to me that in our area, a significant amount of land in the area of Chinden and Linder has been zoned
with the purpose of medium to high density residential, but very little has been set aside for commercial. A
significant amount of apartments and multi-family living units have just recently been added along Linder and
McMillan with more to come as I understand it at Meridian and McMillan.
It is my belief that changing an original development agreement would set a poor precedent for the city and the
residents of Meridian.
Thank you for your consideration in the matter and the time and effort you put in to making our community
better.
