Hello,
First and foremost I would like to thank and acknowledge you for your service to our city and the communities
within it. I am writing you to voice my opposition to the proposed rezoning of the land being considered for the
site of the Knighthill Center Apartments, located behind the Homestead Bar and Grill at the S.W. corner of
Linder & Chinden. I believe it will noticeably and irrevocably alter the existing character and atmosphere of the
Lochsa Falls subdivision which it would be coupled to. In essence allowing residential apartments to be built
directly behind an already built commercial structure doesn’t fit logically with the area and would expose a clear
and noticeable deviation from the property’s original design, without a compelling explanation of why it had
been approved.
As you are well aware, the decision that you are tasked with making will bring about long term effects to our
community that will continue long after you have moved on at some point in the future. I believe that your
stewardship of the city, its communities and most importantly the wellbeing of the people who reside in them
are of the utmost importance to you or you would not be in the position you are in.
In closing, please know that I appreciate your taking the time to read through this and for your consideration of
my request that you move to disallow the changing of this parcel’s zoning from commercial to residential use.
