Mayor Tammy,
I am opposed to you changing the zoning on the property next to Challenger
School. This property is now zoned for commercial use and should stay that
way per the existing ten year plan for this area. The schools are already
overloaded and this change would just add to the overcrowding at local
schools. The apartments would have no place for children to play and
then they would be riding bikes and playing in the parking lots and come
into our neighborhood and play on our playground equipment and probably
end up damaging it so nobody could use it. We pay fees to maintain the
playing area, so it's not fair to our children to just let them come in and
use it when they do not live here. An example of this is at Linder and
McMillan there are apartments galore and no place for children to play,
They ride bikes and play in the areas behind Walgreens, Sonic and the
Other businesses there. Please do the right thing and leave it as it is.
