Dear Mr. Henneman:
Your email has been received by the Mayor's Office. We appreciate you contacting us to let us know of your concerns
for the proposed changes to development plan for the Knighthill project. I will forward your comments to our City Clerk
for the record and to be included in the packet the Mayor and Council members receive for the public hearing. Once an
application is made, Mayor and Council are only able to make comments during the public hearing.
I have copied Josh Beach, the staff member assigned to this project. He will be able to answer any questions you may
have regarding the Modification of the Development Agreement or the process.
Thank you for your comments and being part of the public process.

Subject: FW: March 1 Zoning hearing
Dear Mayor de Weerd,
I am a resident of the Lochsa Falls subdivision and unable to attend the Zoning hearing that will take place next week
regarding the proposed change of zoning on property adjacent to the Challenger School and Chinden Blvd. I am
adamantly opposed to any revision in current zoning which would allow any residential or multi -family apartment
construction to take place in this critical area of our growing city. With the announced, and planned future commercial
development near the location of Linder Rd and Chinden Blvd, this area is destined for a dramatic increase in vehicle
traffic and with the delay in state funding for the improvement and widening of Chinden Blvd, any additional residential
or apartment construction near this critical intersection would undoubtedly create a multitude of congestion, as well as
safety issues.
I believe that the goal of any responsible and forward thinking city government, would be to maintain an attractive, safe,
and valued environment for its residents as planned and measured future growth occurs. 1 believe you and the city
council are in a unique and challenging position of attempting to maintain and protect this quality of life for our citizens
as Meridian continues as one of the fastest growing cities in the West. I am simply amazed at the amount of single
family, and multi -family development that is currently under construction in our city and would appeal to you to
reconsider any thoughts you might have in allowing anything other than commercial development to occur in this vital
and critical area of our city. There appears to be a multitude of options within our city limits for any developer to pursue
building options for additional residential or multi -family units without jeopardizing the future vitality and safety of this
pivotal area of our city and community.
Thanks for your time in hearing the opinion of a very concerned citizen!
Sincerely,
Ronald R. Henneman
