Holman Information Services Director City of Meridian iholman(Mmeridiancitv.org (208) 888-4433 From: Joe Borton Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2016 5:28 AM To: Jaycee Holman Subject: Fwd: Proposed Modifications to 2006 Development Agreement Chinden & Linder Properties Begin forwarded message: From: Jen T <jentassighotmail.com> Date: February 24, 2016 at 6:28:08 PM MST To: "jborton(cr,meridiancity.org" <jbortongmeridiancit .org> Subject: Proposed Modifications to 2006 Development Agreement Chinden & Linder Properties Joe Borton, Meridian City Council, It has come to my attention that the City of Meridian is considering modifying a 2006 Development Agreement to revise the existing language for "commercial only" uses in the CG (General Retail & Commercial District) parcel on the south west corner of Chinden and Linder to include residential. It is also my understanding that an unrestricted CG zoning allows for a large quantity of apartments or similar high density residential units. Even though approvals for high density residential projects include ancillary requirements based upon the number of units I strongly disagree that modifying the existing 2006 agreement to include residential and potentially unlimited numbers of apartments for development for this project and/or future projects is in the best interests of the community. I am opposed to the modification of the 2006 agreement to include residential uses in the CG zoned parcels in order to protect my family's interests in our property, our children's safety and the overcrowding of the schools that serve our neighborhood. For example, there will be increased traffic in both the surrounding streets and within the subdivision. The new project will potentially negate the recent West ADA School District boundary changes by adding high density uses in an already crowded school district. I also am concerned that approval of the modification will open a flood gate of future projects that will not serve our interests. I will voice my opinion at the March 1, 2016 City Council meeting and will sign any and all petitions to stop this from occurring. Respectfully submitted, Jennifer Tassi 1875 W.
