I am writing to you regarding the application H-2016-0002 by Mr. James Wylie for the
building of Knighthill Center Apartments on the southwest corner of Chinden and N. Linder Rd.
I am a resident of the Lochsa Falls neighborhood. I am very concerned about the development
of these apartments. I am worried that they will bring our home values down. I strongly feel
that the area should have been zoned strictly for commercial use. There is not a need or a.
place for these apartments on the corner of Linder and Chinden. The surrounding schools are
over capacity, especially Sawtooth Middle School and Rocky Mountain High School.
If these apartments are allowed to be built I strongly suggest that they be no more than
two stories high. This will save some of the aesthetic of the Lochsa Falls neighborhood behind
it. Two story high complexes will be much more sensitive to the home owners who have lived
in this area for years, bringing the value of this area up, and who love their view of the
mountains and surrounding area.
I am also concerned that proper playground and recreational areas be provided in the
apartment complex. We as residence of the Lochsa Falls neighborhood pay very high HOA fees
for the parks and playgrounds we have in our neighborhood. We do not need the apartment
residents overrunning our public areas causing more maintenance expense and congestion for
the homeowners.
