Sheep Hill Ct. Our back yard faces Linder. This was an undeveloped field ever since we moved here in 2006. We went to meetings about what was proposed there and were told by the developer (Wylie) that it would be office buildings and a berm would be behind our fence. By office buildings, I thought it would be something like nearby Everest & Chinden - - where a Vet, a child care, a dentist are. Instead, we were lied to & it became a tobacco shop & a restaurant. We have to accept what is already there but Wylie is now trying to zone this for 50- some apartments, up to three stories, and no berm is going to be there. He put a 2' mound of dirt & spindly trees along the tobacco shop location. Our property values have dropped. By building more apartments behind our fence, they will go down further. The roads around here are so crowded at Chinden/Linder with FMeyer, The Temple, Costco coming in ... adding apartments would over -burden that corner. There are also constant accidents there. It would not be a desirable area for more residents, more cars. was hoping a small library branch could open there but the Library Bond failed. It's also a real shame you allowed a road through there from Chinden to Gertie. Now cars speed thru to get kids at Challenger School & I fear one of these days a car will go thru a fence. They also cut across there to avoid the light. The two homes on Gertie nearest the tobacco shop have immediately had their owners move out due to all the traffic. z The owner wants to change the zoning from Commercial to Residential. That land is not big enough to support 50+ more families along with parking, etc. If it has to be apartments, if you don't listen to the public, I wish it would be something on the level of the ones built at McMillan & Linder. Two-story, varied exteriors. We don't want to hear dumpster lids slamming shut all hours by having them up against our fence. Where is the buffer & berm Wylie promised and now admits is no longer part of the plan? No mature trees or sound buffer. I'm sorry to ramble but this makes us real sorry we ever bought a house here.
