Subject: Proposed multi -family apartments on Linder and Chinden...
To whom it may concern,
It has come to my attention that it is proposed to put a multi family apartment complex near the
Challenger school on Chinden road near Linder road. I live in the Lochsa Falls subdivision near 10
mile road and Linder road and use the entrance off of Chinden regularly. I strongly oppose an
apartment complex being built in that proposed area for several reasons. I will include just a few:
1- First and foremost this area was zoned as commercial only and many homeowners built or
bought accordingly with that knowledge. Many would not have done so, with this current proposed
change.
2- Chinden is not going to be expanded anytime in the near or far future and is only going to get
more and more congested as a LDS temple finishes completion as well as a Costco on the very same
road! The Chinden Linder intersection will become a nightmare.
3- There is an elementary school right across the street from the proposed complex where traffic is
already congested for the neighborhood ( Willow Creek Elementar). The high increase in traffic in
this area will increase the danger for kids attending the school. In addition, this and other schools in
the area are already overcrowded and are not going to be relieved very much even after the propsed
boundary changes.
4- We already have a huge apartment complex (Selway) just south west of this proposed complex
and this area cannot support that increase in population. We need to have the foresight and
planning to keep Meridian attractive and well balanced.
Please take the time to consider these reasons for not allowing this apartment complex and keep
the zoning as it was originally planned.
Thank you!
