A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN MAKING
CERTAIN FINDINGS TO ADOPT A MISSION STATEMENT AND VISION FOR THE
CITY OF MERIDIAN.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO:
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have the authority [pursuant to LC. § 50-302] to
establish resolutions not inconsistent with the laws of the state ofIdaho as may be expedient, in
addition to the special powers therein granted, to maintain the peace, good government and
welfare of the corporation and its trade, commerce and industry; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have deemed it expedient and in the best interests of
the City of Meridian, pursuant to Idaho Code 63-1311(a), to establish a Mission Statement for the
City of Meridian, and said Mission Statement to be adopted for the City of Meridian shall be as
follows:
"Meridian is a vibrant and caring community that promotes itself as a premier place to
live, work, and raise a family."
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have deemed it in the best interests of the City of
Meridian to provide for a Vision statement for the City of Meridian, and said Vision statement to
be adopted for the City of Meridian shall be as follows:
"The vision adopted by the leaders of our premier city is to promote a safe and vibrant
community by implementing the principles and policies of the comprehensive plan. The
mayor and council will provide effective and responsible leadership, positive staff
development, maximize available resources, and improve connectivity to our community.
As a caring city we are committed to fiscal responsibility, public involvement, strategic
partnerships and economic vitality."

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO as follows:
SECTION 1: ADOPTION OF THE MISSION STATEMENT: The Mission
Statement for the City of Meridian, is hereby approved, established and authorized to be as
follows:
"Meridian is a vibrant and caring community that promotes itself as a premier place to
live, work, and raise a family."
SECTION 2: ADOPTION OF THE VISION STATEMENT FOR THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN: The Vision statement for the City of Meridian, is hereby approved, established
and authorized to be as follows:
"The vision adopted by the leaders of our premier city is to promote a safe and vibrant
community by implementing the principles and policies of the comprehensive plan. The
mayor and council will provide effective and responsible leadership, positive staff
development, maximize available resources, and improve connectivity to our community.
As a caring city we are committed to fiscal responsibility, public involvement, strategic
partnerships and economic vitality."
SECTION 3: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect on

THE CITY OF MERIDIAN
I, the undersigned, do hereby certify:
1. That I am the duly appointed and elected Clerk of the City of Meridian,
a duly incorporated City operating under the laws ofthe State ofIdaho, with its principal office at
33 East Idaho, Meridian, Idaho.
2. That as the City Clerk of this City, I am the custodian of its records and
minutes and do hereby certify that on the ~ day of ~ ' 2004, the following
action has been taken and authorized.
