A statement describing the charaeteristirs ofsttbject propety which make tke zoning amendment desirable. I am trying to sell my property located at 631 W. la St. Wiffi the present zoning being light industrial I cannot get a rebuild permit fca~ my house, this makes selling the property as a residence very difficult if not impossible. This property was built in 1910, and has a historic architectural flair with an open porch on the front of the house. With Old Town caning, this historical character could be preserved. With a rebuild permit obtainable this residence could remain making the sell possible. 6. A statement oufli-ting tke necessity or desirability of development pertaining to tke zonkag atnaaulntent and its karmony witk adjacent development Under the City of Meridian's existing land use the Old Town zoning is located just one block to the east. Residential zoning of R-8 is also one block away to the north. Some parcels outside of the core Old Town area located in the fight industrial area have already bean rezoned to Old Town. The City of Meridian future land use map adopted August 6, 2002 has this parcel of land designated as future Old Town zoning. Following this future planning by the City of Meridian it is very desirable to go ahead and grant this rezone. Allowing historic neighbgrhoods to stay intact is consistent with Old Town planning. 7.
